Kitchen Remodel...

Well for the most part the kitchen is finished. So without any more delay here is the somewhat finished product. Just in case you for got here is the

AFTER~
I covered the open storage shelves with these curtains. It is seems so much less cluttered.

Here is a list of what we did: Painted all of the cabinetry, moved the duct work over head, painted the walls, ripped out the rotted floor and installed a new floor and tile, put in a new stainless steel dishwasher, countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet (although I am going to upgrade our faucet later, the one I have is what you get when your husband and the carpenter go to pick up fixtures).

Left to install: window, light fixtures and a new back door.

Any Resemblance?

I thought how funny it was to find these old pictures of me and one of my sisters and how much we looked alike when we were little and to then look at my own daughter! What do you think?

A Girls Gotta Do What A Girls Gotta Do

In honor of having our pictures taken on Monday, I had to have my ugly roots done. You can't do hair for a living and have roots showing. Isn't it funny how one event like that (pictures) takes a whole days worth of planning. To make sure every one eats good and naps good and that all the things going to be worn are washed and ready. All the children are bathed and us too! A job in itself. We had a great time though. It was hot on that picture evening, but the kids had fun. Surprisingly enough Jude didn't break down with a fit until the very end. I thought I might show a similar fit face! Here is one of Rhett, just because he is pretty! Although one of these days he might prefer handsome! Until next time!

Anniversary Outing...

Josh's parents so graciously decided to keep the kids overnight for our anniversary, so around town we went. We are out every chance we got. Ah the days of a non-dirty floor when you get up with your meal. HAHA ! I had been driving, almost every day, by this furniture store that went in at the Southroads shopping center called Home Decorators Collections. My jaw hit the floor at how much unique stuff they had. Tulsa is somewhat limited if you don't just love traditional furniture and accessories. So if you haven't been yet you might check it out. I think it is worthy of a visit... or two...or ten!

You know I can't resist buying a thing or two for the kids and one of the things I picked up was for Blair, the cutest little shoes at the Gap.

Last but certainly not least is our new shower curtain in the bathroom. I just love it! I am kind of going with a blue/black/white theme. So here is a before and a new pic of the after with the new shower curtain. I am going to have to get a new medicine cabinet. This one didn't seem to hold up very well and some of the paint is starting to chip. There is a window in the shower, I never will understand that thinking, so I am going to have the walls tiled and around that window.

Anniversary Honors...

It amazes me to think I have known such a wonderful man all of my life. From daycare together, to catching the same bus in middle school, holding hands at a track meet, and starting to officially date as a Freshman in High School! That is certainly a journey, one that I feel blessed to be on. It truly is a blessing to have a best friend that you continue to grow with after 14 years together (9 years married)! Never enough time for just him and I! Love you Joshie! You are truly my soul mate and best friend! Happy Anniversary! Here are just a few pics from over the years!

Here we are at 16 and 17!

Our wedding day!

9 years and 3 kids later!

I couldn't be more blessed!

Kitchen Before...

I thought I might add to the anticipation a bit by posting our kitchen before pictures. I am still waiting on my curtains, but did get the back splash finished. I love the way it turned out. I also found a pendant light I am going to hang over the sink area. So here is the kitch before!

Panel Party...

Yea! Today I finished cutting the rest of the panels for the backsplash project. I also covered the light switch and outlet covers to match. So all that is left is installation. Maybe Thursday or Friday night I will get them put up. You know I am such a party animal, I'll have to skip going out (with my 3 kids) to get my project finished! HA! I also hope to have my curtains back from G-ma on Friday. The possibility of pictures is pretty good for this weekend! I am excited to have it wrapping up.

BLAIR...

Every now and then I get a really great shot, by accident, of the kids. A few days ago Blair and Rhett were playing peek -a -boo on our bed and I got this cute shot of Blair. I am going to put in a 16 by 20 black and white and it in her room. Just had to share!

Lovely Letters...

A few productive things went on today aside from the normal laundry, cleaning and running with the kids. I hung the oh so cute letters I picked up from Hobby Lobby and cooked a turkey, all by 12:00 this morning. I am going to give Jennie-O a shameless plug. They really have a fabulous ready to cook turkey. It comes in it's own ready cook bag, pop it in the oven and in about an hour and a half you have a perfect lil turkey. Such a great flavor, too. So this evening was turkey wraps with strawberry and spinach salad. Let me tell ya I am so far from Betty Crocker. This was my kind of meal. After dinner was our usual walk down at the River. We hadn't been in a few weeks, things have just been busy. We all needed it equally as bad, to be out in the air strolling along.

Just a little funny. I got one strip of backsplash cut today. Some how that is all that nap time allowed! Ha!

Come Together...

So today I ran all around town, well in between naps and feedings, to get the rest of the panels for my much anticipated backsplash project. Anticipated by me, anyway. Stopping also by Hobby Lobby, that I have not been into in forever, looking for a few finishing accessory pieces. My oh so sweet Grandma is going to fix up the new curtains and we will be well on our way to a finish up on the kitchen. I have had the kitchen the same style for about 3 years now, wow I think that may be a record. So it was definitely time for a change. Not to mention finally doing the backsplash. So by next weekend I think I will be able to do the pre-remodel pics and the as finished as I am going to get while living in this house pics. If I thought I would live here for even 5 more years I think I would tear out the old cabinets and opt for some new. Alas that is not the plan. Although plans change. For now though, this is the overhaul. See you soon.

Add It To The List

So yesterday evening, after not having the kids take a nap, we had taken an evening drive and came home to the air conditioning not working. Great! So cranky, hot children we gathered into the car and off the the in-laws to spend the night. Luckily, Josh had a friend of a friend who came out first thing this morning, and put us in a whole new unit. Thank you stimulus check! On the positive side now when we go to sell, we can add that to our repertoire of new things on the house. So tonight we are sleeping cool and comfortable.

City View....

A downtown view I got while playing with the kids at the Park! So pretty!

4th of July "Honey I'm Going To Do"

Today my in-laws stopped by and picked up my oldest son right before nap time. So that means while the twins nap I can start on my backsplash. I only really had time to do behind the stove area. So here is a bit of a peek of our new backsplash that is going in, and some of our color scheme. It will take me a few more weeks of nap time and bed time working on it before it is finished. It is coming along though. Yea! The stove is my last stainless steel appliance I need to purchase. And that will be complete also. Happy 4th!
