I thought I might show a photo of what our dining room looked like when we bought our house 5 years ago. Scary huh! It has had a few looks since then...
This chocolate brown I really loved and was almost sad to see it go. But I was ready for a change. This table I bought when I was pregnant with Rhett. Didn't really plan on having twins and out growing it. That's what I get for trying to plan everything. So that table is going on Craig's list soon. (any pointers?)
Well here she is. I can't tell you how much the lighter, brighter color really does make the space feel so much bigger. Like a breath of fresh air to walk into this room. Yay, to be able to all fit at the table together and get rid of the highchairs. I am still planning to purchase those chairs at Ikea for the ends of the table. We are making the trip in May.

I can't tell you how excited I was to find these frames at Gordman's. They were perfect and better yet dirt cheap! And finally I got to put some of the pictures I have been taking around down in proper frames. Sure makes them look good. (If I do say so myself)
These curtains my friend Chris got for her house and the more I thought about them the more I had to have some for myself. Perfect for the look I was going for in this room. Not to mention they were $15 for the pair.
This room certainly has come a long way from what it started out as 5 years ago. Thanks for looking!

OMG OMG! It's stunning! I LOVE the new airy, sophisticated look. Those drapes are perfect w/ the bamboo shades--the textures are making me breathless!
And the contrasting elements (the white chairs & dark table, the dramatic mats & sleek frames, the round pendant & the angular table lines) are so harmonious! Listen to me, I sound all emotional =o)
Nikki, I purchased the curtains at Ikea. Love that place!
Shannon, You are more than welcome anytime girl! I would love it!
Karen, the wall color is Olympic Grey Frost.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU ALL for your complimentary words! I truly appreciate!
Thanks Jesse, I thought they might be from IKEA. The closest one to us is over 4 hours away, and my of the stuff I find on-line they won't ship. Oh well.
I know what you mean Nikki, that is the same distance we are from Ikea. I was just lucky enough my hubs was going down to Dallas for biz last weekend and picked them up for me! Finishing touch! YAY!
