Party Envy...

Sorry friends to be so MIA lately. I have been enjoying the last bit of summer before we start back with our school work. Yesterday the kids and I went to see Despicable Me. I am kind of a movie snob, if you will. I try to keep a close eye on what my kids watch. And I have to say I ended up really liking this movie.

The twins birthday is coming up and Sharstin had a fun post on her blog where she shared a site that showed some super creative parties. I just had to check it out. While I usually do a pretty traditional family party, I can't help but swoon over this lucky little ladies party. So chic I want one for myself. Thanks Shar for posting such a great site. =)

So Much Inspiration...

First let me say Thank You all so much for your sweet anniversary wishes! I appreciate that so very much! I think he is a keeper too. =)

Can't believe it's almost August! Summer has been flying by. I have been trying to soak it up as much as possible. Loving spending quality time with my kids. I was going to try to do some school with the kids this summer, but I enjoyed the break way too much.

I have delighted in your blogs this summers, and am always amazed at the gorgeous images that grace the net. I thought I might share today, a few of those that have put me in a happy place lately.

Happy Anniversary...

*Warning Mushy Post*
If you do not like Mushy posts feel free to
skip this one. =)

Over the weekend Josh and I celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary! I am so blessed to be married to my very best friend. I have known Josh my whole life. We started dating when I was 14, he was 15! Sounds like forever ago, yet all of those memories seem like yesterday! High School sweethearts we were, getting married after his 2nd year in college. (19 and 20 yrs old)
I love that we still dream together, laugh together, and want to always help each other to grow.
Saturday morning, I woke up to the best gift I could have ever gotten and I had to share it with you.
I may just frame it!
Let me give you just a little preface.
Josh has roughly 5,000 friends on Facebook. Lot's to do with his line of work, yet he posted this:

"Today is our 11 yr anniversary- 11 things I love about Jesse Peak"

1. I love the way she walks, with a sort of catwalk style confidence.

2. I love her entrepreneurial spirit.

3. I love her creative style.

4. I love her beautiful feet.

5. I love watching her play on her computer, while drinking her tea from McAlisters.

6. I love the way she loves people

7. I love her handwriting.

8. I love that she is competitive, and that she has no idea how sexy it is.

9. I love how supportive she has been, in my entrepreneur journey, my high school and college wrestling days and allowing me to find my way in life. She's been my rock. She's been so faithful. I love that!

10. I love how great of a mother she is to our beautiful children, and how she teaches them the importance of faith!

11. Most importantly, I love her faith in God.

I have to say I cry every time I read this! I mean what more could a girl ask from her husband, than to have him tell her all the reason he loves her!

(Josh's first year of college, I had one more year in H.S.)
(1999 our wedding day)
(3 kids later!)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great start to your week!

Potato Stamping...

I had almost forgotten that I had wanted to try this little project out. Something jogged my memory and when I told the kids what we were going to do, they were super excited!

I started by sketching out some ideas for stamps. We had planned to do several different t-shirts each.
Rhett really wanted a dinosaur stamp,
So I carved my best T-Rex. =)

I cut each of the potatoes in half. Designs that were a bit larger, I sliced length ways.
Here is a close up of how some of mine turned out.
I used a paint brush and brushed paint on the top of each of my stamps and did a test run to make sure
the stamp was shaped the way I wanted.
Here is what Mr. Rex looked like after he had been used and reused.
The guitar stamp was made up of two pieces and worked out great!
Before applying your paint to the shirts, make sure and insert cardboard inside
the shirt to prevent bleed through.
Here are a few of my finished shirts. =)
I think I might have enjoyed it more than they did.

 Here is Rhett's creation.
 And Jude's
and last but not least Blairie's!

What We've Been Up To Lately...

We haven't gone away as a family this summer, but
that doesn't mean we haven't done anything fun!
We recently found a new favorite place.
It's a frozen yogurt cafe. SO Good!

I realized one day that I had never taken the kids to Bass Pro Shop.
So off we went!
They loved it!

 Next was the Zoo,

I hadn't taken the kids out for any photos in a bit, and I had a location I had been scoping out so we
stopped in. That is until Jude announced he had to poop.

How has your summer been so far?!

Boy Inspiration...

I sure like this room! How fun would this be for one of the boys?!
So funny, Rhett is just like me and says his room has to have some blue! =)

I Love...

My kids do this! I am always telling them how important their relationships with each other are.
And how blessed they are to have each other.
So this does a mama's heart good!

On another note I had to share a quote out of a current book I am reading.
If you follow me on Facebook you have already heard this,
it goes as follows,
"I am important, I am handpicked by God"!
Love it so much I am going to print it up for each of the kids rooms,
so each day they are reminded of how special they are not only to me and their daddy,
but to God!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am gearing up for our upcoming anniversary!
It's right around the corner! =)
Hugs!

Have You Done This Yet?...

You know how it is when you are obsessed with design. You can get a pile of magazines
going pretty fast. A friend of mine came into Cosmetology school (almost 12 years ago) with this huge file of photos she was saving for her someday home. I thought this was
a brilliant idea. And since I can't live hoarder style with magazines laying everywhere
I decided to start my own little file.

I love pulling this binder out and looking through photo after photo that
I love.

And it's nice to see how my style has either changed or stayed the same.
Which will really come in handy when we find our forever home.

How do you deal with your magazine obsession?
