DIY Baby...

A dear friend of mine (Chris) is having her first baby. I am so excited for them! So after browsing some fabulous nurseries online I thought I would love to make her a print for the wall of the nursery. Well being my goofy self this one print turned into 6! I know, but I could not help myself. I just kept finding all these cute things. Chris and I are always bouncing ideas off of each other for our homes, which is so great! I love her eclectic sense of style. So when the time comes I will definitely have to post pics of her completed nursery. For now here are the prints. OH, and it's a BOY!

I painted all of the frames according to some of the bedding she has picked out. The pic with the owls is actually a gift bag I found and trimmed down to size and the sweet cowboy is a page out of a calendar. I took a piece of scrapbook paper and printed "Just the three of us". I thought it was a sweet way to illustrate their new little family. The ABC print I made myself on the computer and matted down. Love how the frame turned out with the glossy red paint. The last two prints are simply scrapbook paper. I sure like how it turned out!
Can't wait to put the room together Chris!

Home Sweet Home...

Ahh, my dream home. I came across this pretty, pretty place for sale. If I were going to buy a home today this one would top the list. LOVE IT!
The view looking from the entry way towards the dining area and living room. Love the shared fireplace and the wood floors. I have always adored the arched windows and doors of older homes and this one has that same charm.
The entry way. There again and arched front door. SWOON! *sigh*

Nice Nook...

A space I could certainly see myself getting comfy in.
Love this space off of the kitchen. What a nice way to have your family or guests close while you cook.

A Touch Of Glam...

A pretty pic to brighten a grey day.
(It is nice to have the slightly cooler temps on this overcast day though)
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Wallpaper Love...

I sure love how wallpaper can change a space...
Or jazz up a piece of furniture.
One of these days I will do some experimenting with it. For now my lil house has all the furniture it can hold. Doesn't hurt to look... right?

I Heart Summer...

Although it has been a pinch to hot to get out after about 10:00 A.M., I really do love this time of the year. We are inching closer and closer to a 3rd birthday for the twins. Just does not seem possible.

On another happy note, I have them potty trained. Hallelujah!! Yes I did say that they will be 3 soon and very soon. But for a while I had absolutely no motivation. Especially when thinking of two instead of just on baby to potty train. They both think that they are such big kids. With two brothers I really have to watch Blair. On our way out to the car yesterday morning, of course the kids were all piddling in the yard instead of getting in the car. So when I turned around to tell them to come on I see Blair by the bushes with her dress hiked up and her panties around her ankles. EEEKKK! We are in the front yard silly! Back in we went. Never a dull moment!
Hope your all having a wonderful summer so far!

Modern Barn Door...

REALLY these are the coolest thing. And If I could find a place in my home for a door like this I would be on it in a heart beat.

Jazz And Vinegar...

I really missed the texture my gloss stripes added to our entry wall after repainting. So this weekend I went back in and added them. I had originally painted the wall in a flat finish, so it was super easy to go back and add the stripes. Tape off the size you want and paint.  Last time around I had stripes all the way up and down on the wall. This time, however, I added only 2. A larger stripe and a smaller one. Just to jazz it up a bit. I went with a Gloss finish. I have always loved stripes, but sometimes don't love them in different colors. So by doing them in the same color and different finishes it give me some texture without being over the top.

What about the vinegar part of the title? Well I was not aware that if you put a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in the water of your fresh flower it will keep them looking pretty longer. Those flower are 2 weeks old.
Hope your all having a great Monday!

Kids Spaces...

When we are in our next home little miss Blair will have her very own space. AAHHH the day. Not that she minds now sharing with her brother. She doesn't know any different. I adore this space. It's a bit grown up for the age she is now, but none the less beautiful. I look forward to doing something like this with her.
And how neat of a space is this, I found over at Tradtional Home. This was a bonus room where the kids play games and have friends and cousins stay over. What a great idea. Love it!
This idea is a definite DO! I discovered it via The Creative Crate.
The time has come for the twins to get new beds. Yep, they are still in cribs. I know... yes, they will be 3 in August. But they fit just fine in their baby beds. They are small kids. Poor things didn't get height from me. Any hoo, I have been looking at beds for some time. I really wanted this daybed from West Elm ,
but I think I will wait until they are out of that "don't care what happens to nice stuff" age.
For now since the twins share a room, this is the bed option I am going with. It's from Ikea, and the nice thing about it the obvious. It is space saving! The height was a definite selling point too. The top bunk comes  just below my shoulder and I'm 5'2. So not too tall. But I am going to paint it. I have some ideas I am tossing around. Not sure yet.

Office Dreams...

These days at the Peak household my husband totally hogs the "shared" office. My creative space has become a corner of the counter in the kitchen. :(
So I am dreaming of a space all my own so I can spread out and not worry I will be in my cooking space. Here are a few beautiful space that are certainly swoon worthy!
