I am finishing up the furniture today and hope to have photos for you tomorrow.

The sun is shining and I going to do some baking today. 

And after seeing this photo I think I need some of these in my kitchen.

How Was Your Weekend?

My weekend was full of inspiration overload!

How was yours?

 I guess I kind of had a thing for black and white.

 Also, I am pretty sure I am leaning towards using a dresser or buffet as

our media cabinet. These two photos really inspired me.

While out and about this weekend this little cutie was sitting across the light from me.

I was smitten!

Especially it's color!

 Thought I had lost my daughter. When I found her, she was in a pile of blankets and pillows

playing her new Leapster game. She was really concentrating. =)

 We had a little break from out 100+ temps, so we enjoyed a picnic at the park...

And took some 4 year old photos!

Whirlwind...

Life has been a whirlwind lately. From birthday parties to starting back to school. For those of you who don't know, we homeschool. And we started back last week. This year I am starting a devotional/bible time into our lessons. I am so excited about it! The kids just soak it up and beg for more. Which make me a happy mama.

Also this week we went out and got Library cards... finally! I have been wanting to do this for some time, but was intimidated to take all 3 kids by myself. I wanted to make sure they would behave before we went.  And today they were perfect angels, loving every minute of the library! We came home with a stack of books.

Lastly my poor little Rhett has staff. Not quite sure how he ended up with that, but it has given me a scare. We came home Friday night from fishing and hanging with family when Rhett showed me a pea sized sort of blistery looking spot under his arm near his armpit. I really didn't think too much about and thought I would check it in the morning. Morning came and he still said it bothered him and so that Saturday night I thought I would put a little ointment on it and a bandage. My husband took the bandage off Sunday morning and I was shocked. It had doubled in size. Now quarter sized and really red. When we got him to the doctor she said we would aggressively treat it with antibiotics and a topical cream too.

My sweet baby! I hope it passes quickly. 

Funny how I get as a mommy. I just want to wash all of their pains away. 

I know this isn't a crisp, clean photo, but I love his laugh and smile! 

They make my day!

Weekend Work...

My house is a total wreck! Thankfully I have three little helpers.

A Bit O'Green....

Happy St. Pat's Day. 

I will just be relaxing with the kids today. I have been having some neck and back troubles so we will be keeping it low key for the next few days. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Much Ado About Nothing...

Why does my kitchen have to go from neat and tidy to this soooo quickly! Ugh, dishes are never ending.  On a side note though I did get a new faucet if you can see past the sink full of dishes! We have had a few new little additions to the house this past week. One was a new ceiling fan/ light fixture in the living room. WOW, does it make a difference! It's like the rooms jewelry. 

 Are you gearing up for Valentine's Day? Making plans? We haven't done much the last few years. But this year we are going to cook with some friends. Which got me to thinking, should I bring a host gift? If so what should I bring? Any ideas?

I had to show you the birds I found at Michael's over the weekend. I thought they were sweet. I love the detail.

This and That...

This is such a random post, my apologies.

 I am going to try some new running shoes. I have been researching shoes a bit and have been very intrigued by the Nike Free 5.0. So I got some, today. Loving the feel of them so far. Do you have a particular shoe you like? Have you tried these?

We also made one our weekly or maybe bi-weekly trips to Target, and I have to say, this isle makes me happy! So many pretty things. I never tire of strolling up and down the isles. They had some pretty oversized white coffee cups on sale for $1.50, so I picked up 4. Yay! I broke it in with some hot chocolate last night.

I have been organizing, like everyone else, and also rearranged my living room. With my new set up I can finally bring in a lamp without fear of it getting knocked over by one of my sweet and never rambunctious children.  I also scored some vintage looking soup bowls with a sweet bird print on them. But I have yet to get a photo to share them with you. Gosh I sound like I have been doing some major shopping. Gotta love Christmas money and a discount store (lamp, bowls)!

Ramdom...

I haven't been surfing around much lately, but last night I got a few minutes to myself after the kids went to bed and came across this completely lovely chandelier from West Elm. If I didn't love my drum shade pendant I have in my dining space already, I might just spring for this one.

This space has obviously nothing to do with the photo above, but I am diggin' all the elements of this space. The perfect wall color, and the bit of pattern on the ottomans to the pop of color in the lamps. I am completely a sucker for a gawdy mirror these days too!

What can I say I am a always drawn to stripes and these are no exception. They really make the space. I would be tickled to death to have a space like this to pen my grandmother (because you know she does not have the internet).

1. I am obsessed with beautiful photography. I could look at photos of complete strangers and appreciate their cute families or wedding and never tire of it.

2. I can't live without music! I always have it going, when I am cooking, down low when we are doing school work... all of the time!

3. I REALLY do not like cold weather! I could definitely live somewhere that stayed warm all year round!

4. I despise trying to find shoes for work. Since I stand all day I have to have something super comfortable and it is not easy to find cute and supportive. Why is that? Do they think only frumpy people want to wear something comfy?

5. Lately I have been craving change. Which is not necessarily in my comfort zone. But I'm ready for a little adventure. Of course everything with kids is an adventure.

6. I got to do the dishes all by myself the other night and it was bliss. I don't like doing dishes, but getting to do anything entirely by myself... well, I just can't tell you how nice it was. I know, I need to get out more.

7. I can't watch scary movies. They stick with me way to long after the movie is over. I am a wimp!

8. I love taking my kids to the movies!  Our favorite so far was the Veggie Tales, Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. LOL

9. My favorite color is blue.

10. In my life outside of the blog world I am a hair stylist. I love and appreciate all of my clients. Most of them have been repeat clients for almost the whole 11 years I have been doing hair. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful clients/friends.

Question...

I have been wearing Bare Minerals for about 6 years now, and this evening while watching TV saw an ad for liquid foundation. Which made me wonder...

Does anyone still wear liquid make-up? 

There are so many brands of mineral make-up these days. Do you have a fave?

I Heart Summer...

Although it has been a pinch to hot to get out after about 10:00 A.M., I really do love this time of the year. We are inching closer and closer to a 3rd birthday for the twins. Just does not seem possible.

 

On another happy note, I have them potty trained. Hallelujah!! Yes I did say that they will be 3 soon and very soon. But for a while I had absolutely no motivation. Especially when thinking of two instead of just on baby to potty train. They both think that they are such big kids. With two brothers I really have to watch Blair. On our way out to the car yesterday morning, of course the kids were all piddling in the yard instead of getting in the car. So when I turned around to tell them to come on I see Blair by the bushes with her dress hiked up and her panties around her ankles. EEEKKK! We are in the front yard silly! Back in we went. Never a dull moment!

Working On Making A Mess...

So today I felt like I did a lot and really got no where. How does that happen? I am, against my better judgement have a garage sale this weekend. I RREEEEEAALLLY don't want to. But I have all of these large things and baby things that I just have to. Plus, bonus...I will have made money. WAHHOO. So I spent most of the day pricing things and making a big ole mess. Then staring blankly at my living room with no real ideas thus far of where I want to go with it. Some areas I have down and others I am getting decorators block. Ever happen to you? How annoying. Anyhoo, then I came across the prettiest picture. And it made me feel all spring and relaxed. Thank goodness for inspiration therapy...
