Business, My Biz-ness...

After much thought about the closing of the shop where I have currently been working, I have decided I won't be leaving hairstyling for good. I will continue to do 2 days a week, and go back to a salon I previously worked at. I feel like I will be getting the best of both worlds this way. I have such a family of clients that I would have dearly missed. So I feel blessed to get to spend so much time with my family and then have that time out of the house with my "other family". I said all of that to say I am excited to have just ordered some cute new business cards. YAY! I think they are so cute and if you are in the market for business or calling cards you must check out this shop. So many beautiful cards to choose from.

A Little Nookie...

No not that kind of nookie, get your minds out of the gutter. I have been staring down this hallway for 3 years trying to figure out what I wanted to do with that space. There was enough room to do something, but a small scale something. So after I bought one of these shelves for my living room it dawned on me that I could create a nook like the ones I love in all of these old midtown homes. So here it is. I absolutely love the results!

Kitchen Remodel...

Well for the most part the kitchen is finished. So without any more delay here is the somewhat finished product. Just in case you for got here is the

I covered the open storage shelves with these curtains. It is seems so much less cluttered.

Here is a list of what we did: Painted all of the cabinetry, moved the duct work over head, painted the walls, ripped out the rotted floor and installed a new floor and tile, put in a new stainless steel dishwasher, countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet (although I am going to upgrade our faucet later, the one I have is what you get when your husband and the carpenter go to pick up fixtures).

Left to install: window, light fixtures and a new back door.
