Headboard Reveal...

Hi friends! How is your Tuesday?

Can I tell you how excited I am to have checked

a project off my list. The twins room is coming together 

nicely. Now they each have their own unique space.

I am putting together a tutorial for the headboards,

 that I hope to share next week. 

Now I'll shush up and show you how they turned out!

LOL!

 Something that has worked out so well for us is using baskets

under the bed for their clothing storage. 

When sharing a room you have to use all of the

available space you can. =)

our other favorite things.

La La Lovely...

This weekend I was super productive! The headboards are made

and hung. Photos and tutorial coming soon. 

I even took the plunge and (finally) painted

a whole wall in chalkboard paint. If you follow my Facebook,

you already know that. =) Why

not, right? We are loving it! It's so much fun!

Green Inspiration...

Hi Friends, Happy Friday!

I recently had a reader contact me looking for some inspiration for her bedroom.

She has a green and brown color scheme she is working with,

and needed some fresh ideas.

I hope these images will help to inspire you.

Nesting...

I have had this crazy nesting thing going on lately. 

No, I'm not pregnant.

Maybe it is feeling like fall is coming.

That and my living area bugs me.

It is the most unfinished room in my home.

And has been since we have moved in.

(Ahem,) 6 years ago.

A few things I have picked up lately,  

for rooms other than

 the living room.

A new shower curtain.

Loving it.

And before it drives me absolutely nuts, I am going to make the twins some little

upholstered headboards. It has been on my list of "to do's" for far to long.

For me, the wanna be designer, it is quite a challenge to put together

a room for a boy and a girl. Not to boy and not to girl!

I want Blair to have a little bit of girly in a mostly boy household. 

But of course don't want to subject Jude to a pink bedroom. 

So I went to a fabric store the other day just to get some ideas.

Here is what caught my eye. 

I'll let you know what I come up with. 

Oh, and before I go,  I am debating on sending in my dining room for The Selby Contest.

I am happy to report I did get to sneak away for a bit of thrifting. Although I must have been practicing restraint, because I didn't buy a single thing. Not that I wasn't tempted, but

if I didn't really need it I thought I wasn't going to get it.

I did find a few pieces of milk glass, oh the torment. 

But I left them all behind.

 Really, I am not going for a collection, just a few perfect pieces. 

On another note,

I sure love photo galleries and for me when I  put up photos or art on the wall

I tend to like it from floor to ceiling. Seems like something

just isn't right if it doesn't fill the whole wall.

 What's your take on floor to ceiling galleries?

Thrift Hope...

I am looking forward to the weekend. I hope I can sneak away for some thrifting. It has been a while, and I am needing some creative therapy. Here are a few images that are pleasing to the eye.

Filling in the Blank Space...

So a couple of posts ago I asked your take on how you like to display or not your television.

Now I am curious. If you are using open storage, what are your thoughts on the wall around the tv?

Do you do something with it?

Like these frames.

Or do you leave it bare?

 To bad I don't have a mantle.

 I would love to have your feedback. I know for me I like having the open storage. But as I look at the blank space around the television it drives me crazy.

What say you?

Our Day at the Park...

I have been wanting to take the twins out to try my hand at some 4 year old photos!

After finally getting a little break from our super hot temps we ventured out.

We started out the day with nice overcast sky, perfect for taking photos.

But wouldn't you know it by the time we got to the park the sun was in full swing.

Oh well, we found some shade. 

=)

 This really was one of my favorite shots of them for the day.

Something about it reminds me of back in the day. 

Like they are adults in kid bodies.

Holding hands, she follows him while on a little stroll.

lol!

I think it would be fun and even more vintage looking in black and white.

Fun!

You know I couldn't leave my big boy out, right?!

My heart is full!

Btw, just a little update on Rhett's infection. The sore under his arm is almost completely gone.

Feeling so blessed that we caught that early.
