Galleries...

I am happy to report I did get to sneak away for a bit of thrifting. Although I must have been practicing restraint, because I didn't buy a single thing. Not that I wasn't tempted, but
if I didn't really need it I thought I wasn't going to get it.

I did find a few pieces of milk glass, oh the torment.
But I left them all behind.
Really, I am not going for a collection, just a few perfect pieces.

On another note,
I sure love photo galleries and for me when I  put up photos or art on the wall
I tend to like it from floor to ceiling. Seems like something
just isn't right if it doesn't fill the whole wall.
What's your take on floor to ceiling galleries?
Do you likie?

 And my favorite image!

Random Happenings...

This is probably going to be the most random post ever. But I finally got my photo gallery hung the way I like it in the living room. It makes such a statement and I sure like it.

In other news I have been doing pretty well with my no meat diet. I have had chicken a few times over the last 3 weeks or so. So I feel like I am doing pretty well. I found this great recipe on the back of a penne pasta box and tried it the other night. My husband totally turned his nose up at it, lol!
Going veg for him is quite the challenge, since he really isn't a big veggie eater. That's okay, more for me =)!

Penne with Fresh Vegetables
1 bx of penne pasta
2tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic (I used 1 and a half)
1 c. yellow bell pepper
2 cups zucchini, diced
2 cups yellow squash, diced
1 bunch asparagus, cut to inch pieces
2 cups cherry tomatoes halved
salt and pepper to taste

Cook pasta, meanwhile heat olive oil in a large skillet. Using the side of a knife, press and peel garlic and saute in skillet for 1 minute, until slightly brown. Add onion and saute for 5 minutes or until translucent. Add bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash and asparagus and saute until heated but not completely cooke. Add tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and saute for an additional 2 minutes. Drain pasta and toss with veggies.

*My substitutions* I had a green bell pepper on hand so I used it instead of the yellow. Also I substituted roma tomatoes for the cherry tomatoes.  And since I'm not a big squash girl I left that out.
So mine wasn't nearly as colorful, but it sure was delish!! I love garlic so if a little is good a little more will be better! =)

For those of you local girl, this dish (the way I made it) tasted a lot like Charleston's Shrimp and pasta dish minus the shrimp, just to give you an idea.

It is a beautiful day here, so we are going to get finished up with school early and enjoy the weather.
Yay for spring!

View In a Room...

Thank you Emily for reminding me of Decor Padder Suzie's sitting area in her master bedroom using the Ikea chairs I have so been coveting. I love what Suzie has done with the gallery above and adding in the Etsy pillows. HMMMM... Maybe a birthday present for myself. I think so!
