Thank You Martha...

For such inspiring spaces!

I think if this were my office I might never leave it.

Where is Jesse?
Oh, she's in the office!
LOL!

That mirror is, ahhh!

Soak It Up...

I guess I am in a "how can I relax" kind of mood, because yesterdays post was also on restful spaces.  And how inviting would it be to sit and soak in one of these lovely baths. I love the large mirrors in the first two photos. And as the cooler weather rolls in a hot bath sounds better and better. It is the only way I make it through the winter months. Sometimes the only way to warm me up. How about you? Do you love cold weather or struggle to stay warm?

Survey Says...

I have been slowly adding some new touches to our bathroom. The new shelves and cabinet, and now it is time for tile. I love the vintage look of subway tiles. So classic and timeless. Last week we had a man come out to bid the installation of the tile. He proceeded to tell me how kitchens and bathrooms sell homes. Maybe I should choose a tile that was more up to date. hmmmm. At first I thought, is he kidding?  Subway tiles stand the test of time. As the day went on I started to question myself. Maybe I should be looking at some different tile. What do you think? Do you like subway tile or prefer some of the larger tile they tend to do in new construction? Would love to know what you all think. Here are some photos that inspire me.

Bathroom Updates...

A few bathroom updates have been going on around our house... finally. We were in desperate need of a new medicine cabinet so while on a trip to Lowe's I spotted the one you see below. So I took it's measurements and went home to make sure it would fit. After purchasing and installing it (which was super simple btw) I added these dark shelves. So now all that is left is to have some subway tiles put on the walls of the shower area. Partly because we have a window in the shower. Why is it they used to do that?
I love this lil picture I found at Arty Cafty. The colors were perfect.
And you know I don't do anything without a little help.

Tile Time...

On the list of to do's is tiling the walls in the bathroom. We have an acrylic surround that is pretty lame. There is also a window in the shower so having the tile all sealed will help with protecting it. Here are some pretty options. I am thinking something on the light side, because the existing floor tile is light with some blue-grey running through it. So I would like to find something that compliments it. The bathroom is on the small side, which is another reason to keep the wall tile light.

I saw some large white tiles like this at Lowe's and they were a cost effective option as well.

I love these white subway tile and the smaller marble tiles too! Maybe I'll shoot for spending a bit more when it is going to be my forever home. And I would love to have a claw foot tub.
