Summer Desert...

What makes the best Strawberry Shortcake...

Well good little helpers of course! =)

Today we did a super easy Bisquick recipe.

4 c. fresh strawberries

1/2 c. sugar

2 1/3 c. Original Bisquick mix

1/2 c. milk

3 Tbsp sugar

3 tbsp butter, melted

1 container whipped cream

Mix strawberries and 1/2 c. sugar, set aside. Heat oven to 425.

Stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tbsp sugar and the butter until soft dough forms.

Drop by 6 spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Split warm cakes; fill and top with strawberries

and whipped topping!

Super quick and easy. My type of recipe!

Sweet Grandma of Mine...

The most special woman in my life came into town this past week. My Grandma.

She lives 5 hours away and we don't get to see like we would like. So I took advantage of having her here and snapped a few photos.

I love this one of her and Jude. He has that smile that will

get you every time. I was glad he flashed it for her several times.

So sweet to watch him rub her arm and tell her he loved her. All with no suggestion

of mine.

And my favorite, she thought the camera had already taken the picture and had looked at me with that big smile. I just love that. You don't get that same reaction out of a posed picture.

For a few weeks our TV has been giving us heck. Turn it on and turns right back off. At first you just had to turn it on one extra time. But after about a week we were having to turn it on up to three times. Talk about a pain in the behind. So we had all we could stand of that and off to Wal-Mart. (they had the best prices) We ended up with a 32". It has been about 5 years since we have purchased a TV. I can't tell you how nice the picture is. The best part of the whole trip was the box it came in. Well that would be what the kids would tell you any way. I don't know why we buy toys, I am sure large cardboard boxes would be cheaper.

Tile Time...

On the list of to do's is tiling the walls in the bathroom. We have an acrylic surround that is pretty lame. There is also a window in the shower so having the tile all sealed will help with protecting it. Here are some pretty options. I am thinking something on the light side, because the existing floor tile is light with some blue-grey running through it. So I would like to find something that compliments it. The bathroom is on the small side, which is another reason to keep the wall tile light.

I saw some large white tiles like this at Lowe's and they were a cost effective option as well.

I love these white subway tile and the smaller marble tiles too! Maybe I'll shoot for spending a bit more when it is going to be my forever home. And I would love to have a claw foot tub.

Fun Entry...

There is something I totally love about this space. The little entry table, the fun accessories, even the graphic wall paper. It's quirky, like me!

Guess What...

You won't believe what happened to me. I had a girl come around selling raffle tickets. I thought what the heck and said I would purchase a couple dollars worth. I didn't know any of the details, like when the drawing was or what the prizes were. I certainly did not think I would win anything, thinking more that I would be donating to the activity she was in. So imagine my shock when two nights later I was called to be told that I had won an ipod touch! I started laughing in disbelief!

When I got off the phone I thought... maybe I heard her wrong. So my thinking was, I'll believe it when I see it. Well I have it in hand and have now armed myself with an itunes card! WAHOO, I am going to town!

And by the way, I have never EVER won anything before! So talk about make my day!

Shopping Trip..

On the last day of our trip was our much anticipated (well by me anyway) trip to Ikea. To get the chairs I have been eyeing for months. And a few other goodies. A giant white vase and a few small irresistible ones as well. Along with a small peak at what is going on in my living room.

Well I won't bore you with to many details but our trip was a nice get away. I highly recommend it if you have children of any age. This is the 12 level tree house with tons of water features. Here are a few of the highlights.

Naughty Monkey...

I may totally be alone here, but I lololove this brand of shoes. They always have something unique and unexpected. The only downside of this mommy of 3 is that I really don't have any where to wear them. With the exception of the last pair of flats that is. I would look pretty funny running around in the yard after my kids in these I think...
