Potato Stamping...

I had almost forgotten that I had wanted to try this little project out. Something jogged my memory and when I told the kids what we were going to do, they were super excited!

I started by sketching out some ideas for stamps. We had planned to do several different t-shirts each.

Rhett really wanted a dinosaur stamp,

So I carved my best T-Rex. =)

 I cut each of the potatoes in half. Designs that were a bit larger, I sliced length ways.

Here is a close up of how some of mine turned out.

 I used a paint brush and brushed paint on the top of each of my stamps and did a test run to make sure

the stamp was shaped the way I wanted.

Here is what Mr. Rex looked like after he had been used and reused. 

 The guitar stamp was made up of two pieces and worked out great!

Before applying your paint to the shirts, make sure and insert cardboard inside

the shirt to prevent bleed through.

 Here are a few of my finished shirts. =)

I think I might have enjoyed it more than they did.

I Love...

My kids do this! I am always telling them how important their relationships with each other are.

And how blessed they are to have each other.

So this does a mama's heart good!

On another note I had to share a quote out of a current book I am reading.

If you follow me on Facebook you have already heard this,

it goes as follows,

"I am important, I am handpicked by God"!

Love it so much I am going to print it up for each of the kids rooms,

so each day they are reminded of how special they are not only to me and their daddy,

but to God!

Kids Silhouettes...

I love these children's silhouettes! And finally decided to make a DIY version of my own.

I started with the mug shot profile shot.

Then cut them out, very carefully. And unfortunately then my camera died. So no pics for the next step.

I had some craft paint and Blair of course got pink and the boys, blue.

I painted each photo, let them dry and used double sided tape to attach each photo to the center of some cut to size white card stock. 

 And the finished product. I really think I would like white frames, but I had these laying around.

I am also considering adding their names underneath each photo.

ScrapBox...

Do you remember my post on ScrapBoxing? Today I am sharing my first one. I have adored this little hat that I purchased for Blair when she was about 8 months old. She wore the heck out of it and if it is down within her reach she still tries to cram her head into it.

 The shadow box came with a black backing so I bought some white canvas twill and cut it to size and cover over the backing. I then attached the photo, hat and a small caption. I am thrilled at how it turned out. As soon as I get a few more finished I am going to hang them over the art display line I posted about yesterday.

DIY Art Cable...

I received the latest PB Kids catalog and was instantly drawn to the art hanging on the wall and how it was hung.

 So cute, huh? But... I thought for what it cost I figured I could do my own version for much cheaper.

So...

I started out with these wood blocks that I painted them white,

I found this great paper and cut it down to 3x3 squares. Then mod podged

it to to the blocks.

Next step was to attach these small hooks to the center of the blocks...

 the hanging brackets to the back and then attached the wire to the hooks. 

Here is the finished product. I hope to add some of my scrapboxes above soon too.

I was laughing looking at this photo Rhett drew, because he added our ages. (before my bday)

So sweet!

Slice of Life...

Just incase you missed this article in the Martha Stewart Magazine I am going to hit the highlights for you. I was so moved by the preservation of special moments in this way.  It is called Scrapboxing. I absolutely LOVE  this! And have begun to work on some of my own scrapboxing. Makes me wish I hadn't some how lost Blair's first bikini! It was so cute too! Here are a few of my favorites. A Little Time For Rhett...

Today the twins actually took a nap, which allowed me to have some time to spend with Rhett doing BIG boy things. So I had bought some finger paint and have been wanting some cute things for their room, I am finally going to get together. So here is Mr. Artist in his apron, I made in High School no less. Looking pretty handsome.

While he did that I worked on another piece I am going to add to their room. Inspiration from a friend. Thank you! You know who you are!

And finally we worked on some motor skills, coloring and practicing with our new scissors. One rule, we only cut paper. NOT HAIR! LOL!

It was really fun, I don't get to spend time with him like this very often! I loved every minute of it! Here are a few of the finished product.
