A Project or Two...

Today I am sharing my latest ScrapBox. This one is definitely inspired by Darci Miller's version.
I like having it hand written, rather than typed. It makes it more personal to me. I am working on another box with a pair of shoes my Grandmother had kept since I was a baby. She gave them to me a couple of years ago and I have had them saved away, not sure what to do with them until I came across the ScrapBoxing a couple of months ago.

Finally I found some white frames for the kids silhouettes and hung them in their room over the art cable.
I tried adding their names and it just wasn't looking right. So I left them as is and I like the simplicity of it.

Hope you all are having a lovely day.

I wanted to tell you that I saw this whole concept of scrapboxing from an earlier post you did and I actually bookmarked your post in my Firefox favorites because I TOTALLY HAVE TO DO THIS!!! I am not a scrapbooker at all. My blog is my journal. But I am now officially obsessed with the concept of scrapboxing. I have to dig out some old stuff of my daughter's...I have her first bathing suit in mind. Also her first pair of Mary Jane's!

Great job with the growth chart box! I agree that adding your handwriting makes it that much more special.

Love your blog!

I am seriously in love with both of these. I really like how you did the boys in blue and girl in pink, too cute! I have been planning on some silhouettes, but haven't gotten to them yet.

I am curios to know where and how you are displaying the boxes, they are darling.

Okay... so these shadow boxes are all so cute, but where are you putting them? I could think of a dozen or more I'd like to make, but how/where to display them to make them look right?? Please snap some shots of where and how you are displaying them! :-)
Thanks!

You work quickly - this is on my list, still.

aww I love the Growth Chart scrapbox! What a neat idea!

And those frames are perfect for the silhouettes. Where are they from?

Bri, I have tried to scrapbook a little and am not really good at it. I liked the simplicity of the scrapbox idea too. I wished I hadn't lost Blair's first bathing suit. Good luck!

Nikki and Cari, my ultimate plan for hanging them is in our game room or school room. But until I have one of those spaces I haven't quite decided. I do have a large blank wall in my living room where I have been debating about putting them. Not sure yet.

Thanks Natalie, I got the frames from Target. They came with the white mats.

Love this scrapbox. And, you're right, the handwriting is a nice, personal touch. It's the kind of thing that later generations will really cherish.

What a great idea! I'm taking mental notes for the height/weight chart for the bun in the oven. I guess it's a little too late for #1 - but I did at least scrapbook and tried to write the details in there.

By the way, your kiddos are adorable!

The subtle houndstooth pattern you chose for the shadowbox is almost as darling as baby Rhett!

I'm TOTALLY digging the simplicity & major design impact the silhouettes bring to that wall! Girl, you've been a busy bee. =]
