Office Accents

I have been trying to tidy up Josh's office lately. I have painted the wall and hung new curtains. We even tried to rearrange a bit, to make if flow a bit better.

It was time to do something with the walls. The poor guy has papers and business cards everywhere. So I thought maybe a corkboard would help him to get organized. Also it would fill in the blank walls.

I started out with a large frame (24x36) and spray painted it.
Sorry no pic for that step.
Next I purchased some rolls of cork.
I rolled it out and cut it to fit slightly inside the backing of the frame.

I used two layers of cork.
The stuff was kind of thin so I thought I better double up.
Next I used some spray adhesive and attached the two layers of cork and then the cork to the backing.
I put some magazines on one end while I worked my way to the other so it didn't roll back up on me.
Place cork in frame.
To add some interest I decided to add a ribbon around the edge. Since it was going in the "man" office I wanted a more masculine ribbon and thought this one did the trick.
So I measured out each side and cut them off, cutting the corners at an angle to make them crisp.
I used fabric glue and attached the ribbon to the cork.
And here is the finished product in it's final resting place, the office.
It really goes well with the curtains.
Here is a little peek of some the the other art that will be taking up an adjacent wall.
 A vintage Porsch.
Swoon!
There are several that I see frequently around town and a Porsche club that meets at an cafe near us every Saturday. We both have this lovely car on our "some day" list, so it is only fitting to have a little gallery of them hanging in the office.
Here is the photo I took of one of the Porsch clubbers!
Ugh, all I need is a scarf and sunglasses!
Talk about the perfect Sunday drive car. =)

Oooh how very manly! Love it! Does your hubby let you do any decorating you want or does he always have an opinion? My hubs and I are always butting heads about that stuff...argh!

And who knew you could buy rolled up corkboard?? Fantastic!

What stylish and fun cork board, good job lady! Seriously, that is one gorgeous black porsch. The hubs and I always discuss having a convertible once the kids are older and we don't both need "family cars" ahhh... to dream.
